The first instalment of the Africa Fashion Week London was held on the 5th and 6th of August 2011 at the Bishops Hall in the east end of London.

The groundbreaking event was organised by the CEO/Founder Ms Ronke Ademiluyi and partners to showcase international designers using African prints, textiles and fabrics from most African countries like never before in the UK.

The two day event witnessed up to 50 designers from all over the world showcasing their collections on the runway and Factory78TV was on hand to bring you some of the highlights.

REMEL LONDON HOSTS THE @ACSKingsNQueens 2011 FINALS - FIND OUT MORE HERE!!!

Tomorrow night be prepared for one of the most sought after events in the academic year!

The annual fashion and beauty showcase is here!

The unique inter-university beauty pageant will see another 16 African Caribbean students from 8 universities compete to be crowned ACS King and Queen 2011!

As a former Vice president of the Leeds ACS and also voted Miss ACS by my peers :D I am proud to host this amazing beauty pageant which is also raising money and awareness for the sickle cell society.

We have an amazing line up of performances on the night from the likes of DALEY, CHALEBOY, SLICK AND JCX and JEROME THOMAS!!! And of course an exclusive selection of African and caribbean fashion!!!

This is definitely an event not be missed!!!

Over the weekend I was definitely out and about! I managed to be one of the lucky few to make it in to

RIP THE RUNWAY UK!!!

I had previously uploaded a video blog and review about the event but was asked to take it down as they did not agree with my views.

This actually troubled me! To the point that I had a disagreement with the organiser and decided instead of war-ing I would take it down!

However this goes against EVERYTHING I have learnt as a young broadcast journalist. And I had floods of emails, PINGS, tweets, facebook messages and personal calls with friends family and advisers that i shouldnt have given in.

After being CUSSED by my fellow media professionals for BACKING DOWN and seeing several other harsh reviews I have decided to put up an edited version of the vblog with an added introduction.

I had the pleasure of hosting and presenting for 4th Degree Media (4DM) at this year's first official Ms Curvaceous UK 2011 event.

This event was all about showcasing plus size models in the fashion industry and media. Presented by Streamline Empire.

On the night we had performances by Lioness, DM II (Dem two) and Naiveronique. And on the judging panel we had the Streamline Empire CEO, along with fashion choreographers and professional as well as BBC 1Xtra's Ace contributing to crowning the winner.

Well done to all the women who took part and congratulations to the winner Naomi Locker aka Nims.
